2007 rules
01 Minimum age 16 years old.
02 Weight (kart and driver) 435 lbs.
03 Chassis must be WKA legal at time of manufacture and
MACKA approved
04 Rear bumper to be mounted outside of mounting tabs
05 Nerf bars – double bars mandatory, not to exceed one
inch outside of rear tires.
06 Steering wheel – Mandatory quick release steering wheel,
as used in micro
midgets,etc. May be splinted shaft or hexagon design.
07 Tires - Burris M15A M15B or SS55 only
08 Bodywork – Must have complete bodywork, nose and tail
fiberglass only. No
additional fairings permitted in front of bumper.
Tail sections will be optional as per
WKA section 483-8
09 Wing- only the F/T 94 may be used with no modifications.
Wing is to be secured at
the rear by two slip pins. The stationary angel of
the wing must be 15 degrees. The
wing can not be mounted further forward than 6” from
the inside top of the roll cage
rear bar. The minimum height should be no less than
30” measured at the bottom
right front corner of the wing.
10 The MACKA logo must be displayed on the center front of
wing. The kart number
must be displayed on both side panels, using the rear
12” only. Kart number should
be on top of wing facing forward, on nose of kart and
both sides of tail section.
Allow room along rear edge of nose for sponsor
decals.
11 Seat belts must have 5 point-type harness, attached to
steel plate, 3/16”x 2” minimum
welded to the frame. Seat belt to bracket connecting
bolts must be double nutted or
cotter-keyed
12 Exhaust pipe – Any MACKA approved type may be used
13 Fuel – pure methanol only
14 Driving suit must be fire retardant. Helmet, gloves,
neck collar, per WKA tech. Arm
restraints are mandatory.
15 All seats must have a metal seat guard/support attached.
16 Mirrors are permitted
17 Engine per WKA specs.
18 All engines must be equipped with an F/T20 fuel cap
19 All drivers pull a pill for starting position. After
pulling pill or if you choose not to
pull a pill and you elect to start in rear you only get
pass points from your original
starting spot.
20 NO scrubbing of tires on the start or restart of race.
23 If at the start of the race a driver has a problem
getting started he must take his kart to
the infield. If a driver develops a problem during the
race, he is to go into the infield
as quickly and safely as possible. You must get the
go-ahead from the Flagman to
return to the track and must stay out of the way of
the other drivers.
24 Two laps to go: Should we have a caution after the two
to go signal the karts will be
lined up single file and we will restart the race
with a green, next lap white, and final
lap checkered. The exception to this is, if the
Flagman has displayed the White flag
to the leader, the only flag after that will be the
checkered, this may be in conjunction
with a red or yellow but that will be the final lap.
We race to the caution however you
can be black-flagged for un-safe driving. Red flag
means slow down and safely
proceed to the start/Finish line, line-up will revert
to the last completed lap.
25 MACKA rookie drivers must start their first 3 races at
the rear of the field.
26 No Alcoholic beverages before the race. If you refuse a
breathalyzer test you will not
be allowed to race.
27 All other WKA rules and regulations apply.
28 Protest of any type must be in writing and given to the
MACKA race director within
10 minutes of the completion of the race. Only a
driver signed up for that race will be
allowed to protest.
Equipment protest must be made before the call to
line-up.
A protest of un-sportsman like conduct (no fee) will
be heard by the drivers
committee for that race. Their decision is final.
Un-sportsman like conduct can be
before, during , and after the race. A driver is
responsible for any of his guest.
An engine protest must be accompanied by a cash fee of
$100.00. MACKA can call
for inspection of any kart regardless of finishing
order with no fee.
If the protested engine is found legal the protested
individual will receive $50.00 with
$50.00 retained to pay expenses. If it is found
illegal the protester will be returned
$50.00 of his protest fee. An illegal competitor will
lose all points and awards for that
race and will not be allowed to drop that race.
29 If a driver declines a protest, he loses points for that
race, cannot drop the race, and
may be suspended. If a driver declines a protest for
the second time he will be
suspended from MACKA
If there are any blatant violations of
the rules the driver will be suspended from MACKA
30 A driver may be suspended from MACKA for any reason
including but not limited to
un-sportsman like conduct, competing illegally,
actions detrimental to the sport, etc.
31 If a driver has been suspended for any reason, he must
be approved before returning.
32 When the Flagman makes a black-flag call it becomes
final and can not be protested.
33 All appeals will go before the Drivers Committee; their
decision will be final.
Points System
(1-10) 75, 70,
65, 60, 55, 52, 49, 46, 43, 40,
(11- ) Points
will decrease by two 38, 36, etc.
In addition to
the above:
5 Points for
leading a lap
5 Points for
leading the most laps (tie will give each driver 5 points)
1 point for every
position you advance from your starting position
In the event of a points tie the driver with the most wins prevails. If there is
still a tie the driver with the next highest finish wins.
